September 2023

Fraunhofer AICOS hosted the AUTONOMOUS project kick-off meeting in the picturesque city of Porto. During these three-day gatherings, September 11-13, we kicked off our conversations around the goals, approach and strategy for the following months. We mapped our stakeholders, discussed data management procedures, identified risks and mitigation actions, and had several working sessions to put our hands-on work.

Along with this, we also had the fantastic opportunity to enclose an:

  • Open-to-the-community workshop facilitated by LUCA School of Art team members, named “Participatory Design with People with Dementia is not about Design”, focused on conducting participatory design with people with dementia and the challenges of conducting such research;

  • Open-to-the-community training session focusing on “Using Activity Recognition in Healthcare" provided by Mayank Goel from Carnegie Mellon University, focused on his work at The Smart Sensing for Humans Lab (SmaSH), which will support the development of AUTONOMOUS.

It was great being together and working with such a talented team!
